Plans for the Cayce Centennial Celebration Weekend

CAYCE, SC – The City of Cayce is excited to announce their plans for the Cayce Centennial Celebration Weekend September 5 – 7. Admission for all festivities during the celebratory weekend is free to the public.

"We are so excited to celebrate 100 Years in such a family-friendly, fun way," stated Mayor Elise Partin. "With input from residents and staff, we have been able to put together an amazing weekend that really offers something for everyone! I can think of no better way to kick-off this Centennial year than to have everyone in the Midlands join us in celebrating what William J. Cayce started 100 years ago. Even his grandson, 91-year-old Reid Cayce, will be coming to town for the festivities! We look forward to seeing you there!"

Friday, September 5 - Centennial Kickoff Party on the Congaree
Time: 6:00 – 10:00 pm (Gates Open at 5:30)
Location: Guignard Brick Works, 100 Granby Crossing (just over the Blossom Street Bridge)
Headline Band: Tokyo Joe

Additional Details: Listen to live local bands and enjoy delicious food and drinks, available for purchase, from many local food vendors while you overlook the beautiful Congaree River. Bring your chairs and blankets, but please no coolers! Additional parking will be available around Brookland – Cayce High School. Free trolley rides will be available to take visitors from the parking area to Brickworks and back throughout the evening.

Saturday, September 6 - Family Fun Day
Time: 12:00 – 5:00 pm
Location: Granby Gardens Park (City Hall Complex)

Additional Details: Join us for a full day of family fun! We'll have bounce houses, dunking booth, waterslides, face painting, snow cones, a visit from Cinderella and other characters. You can also get your picture taken in a Cayce fire truck!

Sunday, September 7 – History Day & Birthday Party
Time: 2:00 – 5:00 pm
Location: Cayce Historical Museum (City Hall Complex)

Additional Details: Come celebrate Cayce's history as we open a time capsule and bury a new one. Enjoy birthday cake, re-enactors, free Museum tours and more as you learn about Cayce's past. Games that were played in 1914 will be available for children to learn about history as well!
